The Hayshed The Ploughman's Bothy
For peace, rugged beauty and clean sea air, this little corner of the Corriecravie valley is truly one of Arran's best-kept secrets. It's ideal for anyone wanting a staycation away from the daily hurly-burly - just to relax or to walk the dog, play golf, watch birds or paint seascapes. For the more adventurous there is a rocky coastline to explore with some interesting volcanic geology, a history of shipwreck, caves, sandy beaches, an Iron Age burial dun and a local seal colony.
The sunsets are stunning, the storms are thrilling and on a clear night, the stars will take your breath away.
We are perfectly located in the commanding yet secluded location of Ivy Cottage Farm, originally one of Arran’s traditional brae-top sea farms. We are nestled on the south west coast of Arran, between the historic Lagg Inn and Blackwaterfoot with its beautiful beach, shops, hotel and the world famous 12 hole links Shiskine golf course. The new Lagg Whisky Distillery and visitor centre is less than 2 miles away.
Our two cottages, the Ploughman's Bothy and the Hayshed each sleep four people. They face onto their own separate courtyard, for access and parking. Both properties offer a comfortable, well-equipped and secluded base for your Arran holiday. One well behaved dog is welcome per property at a small additional charge and only by arrangement at the time of booking.
